Beet & Banana Smoothie Bowl
I love adding beets to my smoothies! They are so detoxifying and add great flavor. Beets have so many health benefits: they are high in immune-boosting vitamin C, fiber, potassium and folate (a huge benefit for pregnant and breastfeeding mamas!)
I added a spoonful of almond butter to the smoothie to add some healthy fat (plus it makes the smoothie thicker and creamier). I also added a tsp of this organic digest powder (made with just chia seeds, artichoke, oat fiber and aloe vera). I do notice a huge improvement with my digestion since adding a spoonful of this to my smoothies. You can use the code leahsplate at checkout for $10 off your order. I also added some vanilla protein powder, but that is totally optional. Lastly, adding frozen banana is key, as it is what naturally sweetens the smoothie and gives it the creamiest consistency!
A smoothie bowl is not complete without its toppings 🙂 I topped mine with maple walnut probiotic granola, shredded coconut flakes and a drizzle of almond butter.
