Healthy Donut-Shaped Apple Snacks
Does your child come home from school starving and ready for a snack? Swap out their milk and cookies for these healthy donut-shaped apple snacks! They are such a fun idea for kids! Us mamas are busy, so I’m happy to say this snack takes only 5 minutes to prepare and requires minimal ingredients! You simple remove the core of an apple, slice the apple and then drizzle some nut butter and optionally some healthy chocolate sauce over the top.
These apple snacks are shaped like donuts since they are circular, so kids really enjoy the presentation. They don’t require any silverware and are easy to just pick up and eat with your hands. It’s so nice to know you’re providing healthy options for your children that they can still be excited about. They’re vegan and gluten-free so almost anyone can enjoy them (unless you have a nut allergy – then I suggest subbing the almond butter for sunflower butter).
This snack is not only great for kids, but has become my afternoon staple recently. I love munching on these when that 3pm slump hits (with my side of kombucha of course). If I want to make this into a meal I sprinkle some granola on top as well.
