My Morning Wellness Rituals

Hi friends! I thought it would be fun to share my morning routine and wellness rituals! These little morning rituals help me to stay balanced since the remainder of my day is pretty crazy!

First thing: drink warm water with freshly squeezed lemon:

I wake up every day between 6am and 7am (depending on if I’m working out or not). The very first thing I do upon waking up is drink a glass of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon. This provides my body with hydrating electrolytes and supports digestion. Sometimes I add a shot of apple cider vinegar into my lemon water to help rev up my metabolism for the day.

Sip on my morning coffee, matcha latte or turmeric latte:

After my lemon water I look forward to (that’s an understatement – I get SOO excited) to sip on some coffee, a turmeric latte or a matcha latte. I like to switch it up! Most days I prefer coffee, but one or two days a week I really enjoy a turmeric or matcha latte. I add a scoop of collagen peptides into my coffee and lattes to help support my joints, bones, hair, skin and nails and have noticed amazing results since doing so!

Browsing the web and check emails:

While I sip on my morning latte I browse the web. I love reading health, wellness, food and fashion blogs. I also catch up on my emails. So many people say NOT to check emails first thing in the morning, but it actually makes me calmer to get this out of the way because I feel like I can get to anything really important and then I’m able to relax and enjoy my day. Since I’m a stay-at-home mom I get all my work done from home, so I really don’t have any traditional hours and need to get my work done while I can!

3 mornings a week I wake up a little earlier to squeeze in a workout!

If I have time for a workout I go to my favorite kickboxing, yoga, spinning or pilates class – I enjoy switching up my workout routine so I never get bored. I try to listen to my body – if I’m feeling energized I’ll take a high cardio class like spinning or kickboxing. If I’m a little sore from a previous workout I’ll either skip a workout or take a restorative yoga class.

Take the time to sit down and mindfully eat a nourishing breakfast packed with whole foods:

When I come home from working out I make breakfast – always something sweet – usually a smoothie or oatmeal. I am NOT a savory person first thing in the morning. I like to take the time to sit down and enjoy a peaceful breakfast. I think it’s so important to take the time to enjoy the food you’re eating and not try to do a million other things while you eat. I try to really enjoy and savor each and every bite of the delicious food that I’m nourishing my body with. This is also the last few minutes to myself (where the house is calm and quiet) before Emma wakes up. I’m VERY lucky that she sleeps until 8am most days 🙂 Once Emma wakes up the day is (beautifully) chaotic. I love every second of it!

Take a daily women’s vitamin:

After breakfast I take my daily vitamin. About a month ago I discovered Ritual ‘Essentials for Women’ vitamins. These vitamins are made by women FOR women. Ritual is a simple daily vitamin that improves skin, mood, energy, and aging in just two capsules per day.

Ritual believes that you deserve to know exactly what you’re putting in your body and where it comes from. Instead of loading up their multi vitamin with a bunch of unnecessary stuff, they included only the nine nutrients most women don’t get enough of from diet alone. Plus, they did tons of research to find the most effective vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, sugar-free and dairy-free forms of each nutrient. Ritual’s vitamin has a truly transparent and traceable supply chain.

Ritual makes getting their vitamins so easy! The bottle is conveniently shipped directly to your doorstep. Their mission is to make healthy daily practices easy so that feeling great is not a choice, it’s a given. Ritual focuses on foundational health. This isn’t a “fad” one-month pill. It’s an investment in your long-term health that improves mood, skin, energy and aging over time while keeping you balanced.

I have now been taking Ritual vitamins for a little over a month and definitely notice a difference in my energy levels and mood.  I used to be exhausted every day around 2pm and wanted to crawl into bed and take a nap. Now I’m feeling more energized in general and especially during that afternoon slump. Another thing that I notice is an improvement in my skin – it’s looking clearer than ever and my overall complexion seems more ‘glowy’.
Please know that I would never recommend a product that I didn’t try myself and truly believe in. I suggest trying Ritual for a month and seeing if you notice any positive changes. It’s too easy – it gets delivered straight to your doorstep and it’s an investment in your health. I can almost guarantee you’re going to love these vitamins as much as I do! If for some reason you’re not happy with the vitamins, Ritual guarantees your money back – so you have nothing to lose!
