Blueberry-Flax Smoothie (Vegan & GF)
This creamy and nutritious blueberry flax smoothie is easy to make, requiring just 7 wholesome ingredients and takes only 5 minutes to make.
Even though it’s winter I can’t get enough of smoothies lately. Since I live in South Florida I don’t crave warm breakfast in the winter as others often do. I was stuck on a green smoothie kick for a few weeks and have now made the transition to this beautiful blueberry smoothie. It’s the perfect plant-based breakfast or snack that is thick & creamy, gorgeous, naturally sweet, nutritious, quick & easy, portable, fiber-rich, satisfying and SO delicious!
This smoothie requires only 7 wholesome ingredients that are rich in healthy fat, antioxidants, fiber and protein. This smoothie is also packed with vegetables and you can’t even taste them! The simple ingredients are almond milk, blueberries, banana, cauliflower, cucumber, flax seeds and almond butter. For a gorgeous dark blue-purple hue and dose of antioxidants, I added in frozen blueberries. I also used 1/2 of a frozen banana and frozen cauliflower because frozen fruit and vegetables make the creamiest, thickest smoothies. Adding in the cauliflower not only makes the smoothie thick and creamy, but also adds a full serving of one of the healthiest vegetables on this planet. There’s also some cucumber in the smoothie for even more veggies! The best part about this smoothie is you can’t even taste the vegetables! The banana and blueberry naturally sweeten the smoothie (also making it creamy) so there’s no need for any sweetener. The almond butter adds a nice dose of healthy fat and protein and the flax seeds are the perfect serving of fiber. For even more protein, feel free to add hemp seeds or vegan protein powder. I sprinkled some hemp seeds and extra almond butter on top, but that’s totally optional.
I created this wholesome and delicious smoothie using the new specialized NutriBullet Balance nutrient extractor. It’s bluetooth-enabled with a smart nutrition sensor. The NutriBullet Balance takes out the guesswork with no more recipe books or measuring cups. The NutriBullet Balance is so easy to use and makes meal prep more efficient. The built-in smart nutrition sensor connects to an app (easily downloadable on your phone) via bluetooth and visually counts calories (I personally don’t count calories, but for someone look to lose weight that’s a great option). It also calculates protein, carbs, fat and sugar. It’s truly like having a nutritionist at your home – such a cool technology! You can easily personalize recipes to your taste and get real-time nutrition data as you build the recipes. It’s also the perfect gift to give to a health savvy person. Any health conscious person would love the NutriBullet Balance nutrient extractor because of the new technology and quality.
Using the new NutriBullet Balance nutrient extractor there’s simplicity to a perfect smoothie. It’s so easy to make a smoothie using ingredients you know your body will love. With the new NutriBullet Balance nutrient extractor being healthy just got a whole lot easier! My personal favorite part of this is knowing my sugar content in a smoothie. Some smoothies are packed with so much fruit you end up consuming more sugar than in a huge dessert. I have been trying to consume less sugar, so this has been so helpful to me.
You’re going to LOVE this delicious smoothie! Try making this smoothie in the morning for a quick and easy breakfast and it’s so portable to grab-and-go for busier days. It would also make a delicious snack or post-workout replenishment.
