Two things I have been super into lately: cauliflower and turmeric. I’m finding ways to incorporate both of these healthy ingredients into so many dishes lately ranging from smoothies to main dishes. Lately I’ve been craving comfort foods so this turmeric cauliflower mash is the perfect healthy swap for traditional mashed potatoes. The cauliflower mash is light and won’t leave you feeling full or sluggish. The turmeric gives it a nice kick and also has anti-inflammatory health benefits, so no wonder it’s an ingredient currently #TrendingInTheKitchen!

The ingredients for this recipe are minimal and simple: cauliflower, Pompeian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, turmeric, garlic powder, pink sea salt and pepper. This turmeric cauliflower mash is free of dairy and gluten making it a great side dish that anyone can enjoy.  In addition to simple ingredients the recipe itself is quite simple to make. You simply steam the cauliflower and then toss it into a food processor with the remaining ingredients.

As mentioned above, I use organic olive oil in this recipe. My go-to brand of olive oil lately is Pompeian. It’s America’s first national brand of imported olive oil. I think it’s so cool that their olive oils are a blend of olive oils produced in various regions. I can taste how fine the quality is and love using products from brands I know I can trust.

This turmeric cauliflower mash has quickly become my favorite side dish. It pairs so nicely with fish, chicken, steak and many vegetarian entrees. People don’t even believe me when I tell them it’s cauliflower and not potato! With springtime quickly approaching this light side dish is the perfect fit.

Turmeric Cauliflower Mash

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes

  1. Steam the cauliflower until it’s very soft (about 15 minutes)
  2. Add the steamed cauliflower, olive oil, turmeric, garlic powder, sea salt and pepper to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until the consistency reaches a puree. If it’s too thick you can add 1 tbsp of hot water.
  4. Pour into a bowl and serve immediately.


This will stay good in the refrigerator for about 3 days.
